First of all, some photographs of the fireworks at Ujina Port. These photographs were taken from Furutakayama, a mountain in Etajima. I like the view of the Ujina fireworks from here for two reasons. Firstly, it is possible to see the bridges of Hiroshima Bay and the lights of Hiroshima City. Secondly, there are no crowds! It's great to watch such good fireworks without thousands of other people.
This was the very first firework of the summer festival in Etajima. I was waiting at the pier for this firework. I used a long exposure to take this shot, which is why the sky looks purple.
Another shot of the fireworks in Etajima.
This photograph, and the two following, are of the fireworks in Kure. On this day, the ships of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force in port at Kure are always decorated with lights.
These photographs were taken from Etajima. I think that Etajima is the best place to watch the Kure fireworks, because the fireworks reflect on the sea.
The final two photographs are of the fireworks in Miyajima. I have only been to the Miyajima fireworks twice in the ten years I have been living in Hiroshima Prefecture, because there are so many people it is too difficult to take photographs, and because it is so difficult to get off the island after the fireworks have finished. Still, I rather like these photographs.
