膀胱炎

夜、鈴はあまり眠らなかったようだ。
次の日の朝から落ち着きがなく、３分毎におしっこをしようとしていた。
心配で、こっちまで落ち着きがなくなりそうだった。
すぐにかかりつけの獣医さんに診てもらった。
膀胱炎になっていた。
薬を貰って帰り、与えると、結構すぐに落ち着きを取り戻した。
そうこうしているうちに、仕事に行く時間になった。
自分に熱があっても休もうとは思わないが、この時は、休んで一緒にいてあげたかった。
子を持つ親の気持ちが、少しわかる気がした出来事だった。
そんな大変な出来事があったというのに、私が鈴にかかりっきりになっていたので、花はやきもちをやいていた。話して聞かせたが、全く理解していないようだった。

Bladder Infection

Suzu didn’t sleep well the other night.
The next morning, she was restless.
She tried to pee every 3 minutes.
I took her to the vet.
The vet told me Suzu had a bladder infection.
I gave Suzu antibiotics which were prescribed by the vet.
After a while, Suzu looked OK.
I had to leave for work soon after that.
I wanted to be with Suzu all day that day.
I understood part of parents’ feelings.
When kids are sick, they’d rather be home with their children.

鈴が私のソックスで遊んでいるのは知っていた。
やる事を済ませて叱りに行った。
その場に着く頃、鈴はリビングの角にさささ～っと行って、隠れていた。
代わりにその場には花がいて、目の前には例のソックスがあった。
花は｢私じゃない！｣と目で訴えながらも、どうしたらいいかわからないようだった。
完全に鈴にはめられたのだった。
すばしっこい鈴と、どんくさい花。
二匹の性格を顕著に表す出来事だった。
やる事を済ませて叱りに行った。

A False Accusation

I knew Suzu was playing with one of my socks.
I did what I had to do, and walked towards Suzu to scold her.
By the time I got there, Suzu had already gone to a corner of the living room.
Instead, there was Hana.
Right in front of Hana, there was the sock.
Hana looked a bit upset and didn’t know what to do.
She was trapped!!!
